Nick Trier, NASUWT National Executive Member, spoke in favour of a resolution on the relationship between ICT, teacher policy and student learning.

He pointed out that whilst there may be disagreements between how ICT will shape our future, the scale and scope of change will be ‘unprecedented’ and that where technology is causing disruption, education is not immune to those ‘seismic shifts’.

Critically, Nick argued that ‘ICT must never displace the relationship between teacher and learner’ and ‘must be used under the supervision of qualified, well-trained professionals’.
